I acquired some previous live rock that is now dry and has been for over a year. I have been soaking them in a tub of saltwater with a pump for the last 24 hours. I pulled one of the pieces out today to look it over and after looking it over I realized the rocks were covered in what looks like dead and dried worms. I was wondering if anyone could identify what they are and if and what I should do about it

You should do nothing about it. Those are the calcium based tubes certain worms make and live in through their entire lifetime. They are part of the rock now. One of the Serpulidae I would imagine.
