Would I be able to do this?

Would it ok to place the RO/DI filtered water into the tank and then just add the necessary amount of Salt additive and let the powerheads mix it into the water for me?Or does the mixture really need to happen in a seperate container and then siphoned (sp?) into the tank. Well just something I had on mind, thanks for the help.

In a new set up you can do that but if the tank is already set up and has anything in it then no you can't. You should never mix salt into a tank that is already set up and running.
You should mix the new water in a bucket or new garbage can for a min of 24 hours and you also should have the water brought up to temp before doing water changes.
