Would the 3-1/2"-6" also be true for a much smaller tank, say a 15 gallon tank?

I know ya'll haven't talked on this subject for a few months, but I have a question. Would the 3-1/2"-6" also be true for a much smaller tank, say a 15 gallon tank? I'm thinking of converting from CC to sand...

Deep sand bed is the same depth no matter what size tank . If I had to do mine again i would have done 4 inches instead of 6 just for the look of the tank.

Thanks!! I'm excited to switch over, just wish I would have started off with sand but oh well..I'll get there. Haha!
