I want to start a sort of zoa garden with some ricordia and maybe an lps frag as a center peice ( hammer possibly, well away from the other corals to prevent chemical warfare) and was wondering if given enough space will the zoas and ricordia be ok together and not sting each other or release chemicals I've seen it done but was wondering if they had to pick certain types to avoid my stated issue

Rica and zoas should be perfectly fine near each other. You just need to keep an eye out for encroachment so the zoas or Rics don't get "suffocated". I have zoas , Rics, encrusting gorgs, gsp, discomas, and hairy mushrooms all touching in my pico tank. Never been a problem

It's all about perfect placement
