I'm jut curious I could be totally wrong !! But you can never be to careful when it comes to Malawi bloat ! This is my red empress female she's 2 1/2 to 3 inches and vey active and eats a lot !! But I wa wondering is this just her growing and getting bigger or is this early sight of bloat pleas anyone with experience it be greatly appreciated if you give your opinion !!

If the fish is eating its not bloat, that's usually the first symtom people see when they eat food and spit it out.
 
So it doesn't look like bloat and no she is eating a lot

No it's just a fat fish, feeding in my opinion is one of the toughest challenges. There will always be fat and skinny fish depending on demeanor, it's a balancing act to ensure on average they're somewhere in between.
