Firefish in action - unexpected

We were a bit surprised today as our male firefish was acting nuts. He was about 3-3.5" when we got him and the biggest in the tank. Not sure what type peacock the female is yet -I caught them at the end.

Andy, from your experience with peacocks how long do they usually take to mature from frys to breeding condition? i.e. months, length

I'm sure they vary but a rough estimate on most.

I've had this tank a few months and all my cichlids were 1" to 1.5" except the firefish.

I'm not really sure to tell you the truth. Mine are probably 2.5" (male sunshine) and they have grew probably an inch in the last 7-8 months. One is dominant and one is sub dominant. The female doesn't seem to be growing near as fast at maybe a .5" in that time frame.
