My nephew turned off the aquarium heater

Temperature in my Peacock Cichlid tank dropped to 70 overnight. Fish are hiding out!!

Is it OK to put hot water in the sump and let it circulate through the tank?

Just turn the heater back on and raise the temp slowly back to what you had it at

Agreed. 70 isnt too low for short period of time. The biggest mistake people make when things like this happen is they panic and make drastic changes to regulate the water and it shocks the fish. I am all to often guilty of doing just this and then I do a palm to the forehead because I know better.
