Okay so I finally got to setting up the 29G and have my new light hung so I thought it was time to start a new project thread.

It's a 29G tank with a painted blue background. Just a running a HOB but plan to put a canister in. 165W Dimmable LED Full Spectrum lights.

I have:
- 2 Chromis
- 2 Peppermint shrimp
- CUC (two red legs, five red legs, and astrea snails)
- Frogspawn
- Toadstool

And photo dump:

Right after we got it set up:

All clear! Inverts in!

Toadstool:

Frogspawn:

The chromis are hard to take pictures of but I'm going to try!

Some more pictures:

The frogspawn under the blues:

Time for more photos :)

I've decided to take down my 3G Pico and move the corals to my 29G because I think they'll do better in there and I'd really only like one saltwater tank (for now).

I also got a pair of baby ocellaris clowns to add to the 29! They're in quarantine currently and will be for another few weeks until I'm confident in putting them in the main tank.

So photo update time!

The toadstool is growing like crazy:

Im pretty sure my frogspawn is healing from my peppermint shrimp ripping open his mouth:

Feather duster has been moved over. My peps are picking on him though so I'm hoping he starts retracting sooner:

And finally a FTS:

I still have to move my ricordea, a little red mushroom, and my people eaters over. :)

Ok so I took the plunge and bought myself a pink BTA.

Here's to hoping she does well as my tank is about 6 months old (was a 20G tank but transferred everything into the 29G) at this point. :)

She seems to have cozied into the crevice I put her in... for now. Just hoping I don't have a roamer! ;)

After being settled in for a while my anemone seems to be on the move.. Hopefully she doesn't go to the back of the tank.. She seems fairly happy and healthy. Her bubbles are bigger closer to the light so I'm assuming she's just looking for more light? I turned the LED up a little bit so we will see where she decides to go!

Also question - BTA's will sting your hand correct? I think I read that somewhere.

The lighting should be more than enough for an anemone. Could possibly be flow as well. It'll find a spot it likes, that is something you for sure don't have to worry about.

Lurking here (well, not anymore). Everything looks great. Nice growth.
Sorry, no idea on the bta sting.

Here's a few photos:

First one is some coralline algae I noticed growing on my rocks the other day.

Here's the bubble tip in its spot until it decided it's taking a trip.

On the move.. Left her crevice to the lower left.

I really like your bta. Speckled are always really interesting.
In terms of being stung, it is possible but not likely. There are other anemone, like carpets, that are more aggressive and much more likely to sting you. That said, with both in my tank it isn't something that I worry about. I've touched all of my anemone without issue, other than the fact that they are sticky and not wanting to let go and not wanting to hurt them. If you are allergic to bee stings, I wouldn't be screwing around with them without gloves on my hands. Their sting is just like it and has the same effect on those with such allergies. I'd probably have an epipen by my tank...if I kept anemone at all at that point.

Thanks! I love the speckles. They're unique. It was sold to me as a pink BTA but it's mostly green with pink tips. Which is where I think the pink part comes from? Regardless, I love it lol.

And good that makes me feel better. I freaked when my boyfriend put it in the tank with his bare hands lol. Guess I should apologize hah.

The BTA also moved to a nice spot... For now :) hopefully he likes it there.

What would you suggest feeding it? I've been giving it a bit of mysis shrimp but I've read that silversides can be fed but they're hard for the anemone to digest?

The anemone decided to move on me so I moved him elsewhere... Hopefully he stays? I don't really know how to encourage him to stay, or if I even can. :l

Moved him here..

Bought a hammer.

Anemone will move it not happy. You can't force them to be anywhere.

I know, I wasn't home last night so I asked my mom to turn on both of my lights this morning and when I got home this evening only one was on. I figured it moved because it was unhappy about the lighting change.

The second one you actually bought is another frogspawn! I have the same one :D

Ok I have some new pictures. Have been having some algae issues and my BTA has been moody so I tested my phosphates and nitrates and realized they were high. PO4 was 0.16 and NO3 was 20 I think? So I'm doing a series of water changes and am trying to reduce feeding.

What are some feeding tips to help keep them low? Frozen or flake? Once a day or once every two days?

Here are some pictures. :)

Also I have the 165W full spectrum dimmables and I'm trying to figure out what the max is that I should go with my lights. They're hanging 11" over a 29G tank and I think they're currently at 30 for whites, and 60 for blues.
