**Update 12/11/2013**

Day two of the stable 80* temp in my tank and both the duncans and candy cane look happier than ever, plus I just noticed a small head growing out of one of the stems of one, I'm so excited now, all my work is paying off and this has convinced me to go reef with my DT in the livingroom, here's a pic.

**Update 12/24/2013**

Well guys thought I'd give you an update before the holidays.

I went down to my lrs and saw a coral off to the side away from the lights that looked a little stressed. I asked the store owner what was wrong with it and he said it had been there a few months and only opened once or twice. When I asked what the price was he said it was a goniopora and the original price was around $45 so I stuck around and looked at a few other things and kept coming back to it to show my interest. After about 30 minutes he came back and said if you really want it I can do $15 today only, so naturally picked it up and brought it home! After about 2 hours it started to open up. The first few pictures are of the first hour it was here in my tank after acclimation and the next set of pics are after about 6 hours in the tank with the lights on and it fully opened.

To tell you the truth guys I couldn't be any happier with this coral it looks happy and looks very healthy in my tank. I also picked up a nice 4lb rock with some coraline spots while I was there and i rearranged my tank a bit. Well that's enough talking guys heres some pics, enjoy, and happy holidays!

Looks good. I love goniporas (flower pots). But unfortunatly they are very hard to keep for long periods. I had one for a long time that did great in my 35g tank but when i switched tanks it slowly died. I wish you luck with it, they like kinda dirty water and those polyps can really stretch out. I had about a 2" skeleton ball on mine and when it was expanded it was a good 6" In diameter. Beautiful corals! Heres some old pics of mine when i had it and it was happy.

Well I hope this one lives a long happy life, it seems to be doing well so far and it's at the bottom I dint think I even have to move it. Im still deciding on my next coral but i know i don't want it to be green lol.

Thanks bud im trying to keep my tank clean and my water cleaner, I thinking about investing in or making a diy hob fuge.

That is the battle we are always in. Get the water cleaner. I kept battling things in my DT, but forgot to keep an eye on the sump...had build up in there that caused all kinds of issues. I cleaned that up and then forgot to turn my reactor back on! Was just one thing after another that led to a cyano outbreak. Was pretty embarrassing, but it should all be back under control now thankfully. Keep up the good work, those flower pots are a handful.

I do have this algae thing im battling right now well im sidelined at the moment but it is an eyesore luckily its at the back of the tank.

Alright guys I need an ID on what im battling now, i have a powerhead in the rear not letting anything settle and I was too late I assume, I know I have a small hair algae problem and idk what the red one is, I need some help guys!

Im feeding rods reef food once a day, about a 1/4" chunk and I have an aquatic life 115 skimmer and hob filter with a pair of hydor 425s
