aquarium safe silicone

ok so im in the process of making a DIY sump and ive read that if you use mildew resistant silicone it isnt aquarium safe. i used it already on the tank and its drying now. is it that big of a deal? if it is could i just go over it with some aquarium safe silicone?

It's not ok. It'll leach into the water and kill everything most likely. That's what I've heard at least. You need to use ge silicone 1 or the silicone made specifically for aquariums.
