Best solution to clean tubs?

I store my RO water in rubbermaid tubs. I recently had a bad dieoff from my liverocks, and poured the foul water in a rubbermaid. I rinsed it thoroughly but am afraid to add ro water in it since perhaps some of the nasty water bacteria lingers on the sides of it. I was wondering if there is a product out there that is used to clean or kill any harmful bacteria that may develop on the sides of buckets or rubbermaid tubs when they are not in use? But is also safe for aquarium use. I know any normal soap will not be a safe way of cleaning this. What should I do?

If you rinsed the tubs really well afterwards, I don't think you should have any problems with putting RO water in them now. But if you want to go ahead and clean them, I would recommend scrubbing them with vinegar then rinsing well with hot water.

I'd use bleach and water, rinse well afterwords and allow to air dry
