Consequences of a too high of calcium??

I know if it gets too high it will precipitate out of solution and it will look like snow, though I am not sure how high it needs to get before this happens.
 
500 is not necessarily too high, but it is high. FWIW, I would be suprised if it's that high, Red Sea CA kits are very unreliable and they only resove to 50ppm, so if it was accurate, it could be between 450 and 500. I would get the level tested at the LFS with a better quality kit, also get the ALK tested, Ca and Alk have a relationship and we can't recommend any action to take without knowing what both levels are, with the exception of water changes.
