What is the proper water flow for a feather duster? I have 400 gph from my filter. My tank is a 29 gallons. Do I need more flow for a feather duster? I see they need "medium" water flow. Do I need special lighting also? I have florescent only bulbs.

No special lighting - they are not photosynthetic. I have a 350 gph in a 30 gallon. Feather duster does fine.

Dusters need med-low flow. They will tolerate more but if constantly being "hammered" by it they will jump the tube to look for a better feeding position. They are strict filter feeders so lighting is of no concern. Best place to place them is in an area where coral placement is not optimal and flow is broken up by obstacles. They will not irritate other sessile inverts and aggressive corals do not usually attack them as a rule.

Cheers
