I just picked up a short tentacled plate coral this past weekend, and fed it for the first time last night. Wow... I've never watched a coral eat mysis shrimp. I'm totally in awe at these things living in my aquarium. Anyway...

My question is how much do you feed plate corals?

It's about 3" in diameter, or so. I know some folks don't feed them at all and let them just get food from the water column, but I figured I'd be nice to it for a while and feed it every 4-5 days or so. I didn't want to overfeed it, so I just gave it about 4-5 mysis shrimp and called it good.

Thanks in advance!

when i had my tongue coral. i fed it three time sa week with brine shrimp or blood worms. i melted the batch of food in aquarium water, then suing a turkey baster, i squirted the stuff near the opening of where the mouth was. kinda cool, i remember, to see the tentacles of the tongue eagerly grasp the food and then relay it to the mouth. i miss that coral alot.
