Garf grunge any good?

I was wondering what I could use to seed my sand bed. I was gonna use a few cups of ls from my lfs, but I came across a thread that recommended using garf grunge from www.garf.org . Is this stuff any good? Anyone out there use/ have used it with success? It's a little pricey (almost as much as LR, about $5 a pound) I know that my LR will seed the sand, but I ran into some nice dry base rock that ha d a price I could not resist. I'll be using half LR and half dry rock. TIA!

It is pricy expecially for what you get. Ask your LFS if they have any live rock rubble from the bottom of their LR curing tanks or if they could hold the small rubble that is in the bottom of their LR boxes when they get another shipment. Thats about all their grung is.
