How many hermits should i put in a 55 gallon? I am going to have a pretty big bioload.

Depends on what other cleaners you have in the tank and howmany you want. I have 30 in my 75 right now and I could easily add another 30.

While we're talking cleaning crew, try nassarius vibex snails too. I love the way they bury themselves in the sand and surface when feeding time comes. Gotta be doing good stuff in the sand that way. Found this out after killing 3 sand sifting stars.
