I have a serpent starfish. I've been given to understand that they should never be exposed to air. The other days I was performing maint. and pretty focused on one end of the tank. I stapped back, and noticed the starfish 10 feet away from the aquarium on the floor and still moving. Took a chance and put it in the quarantine. Little fighter is still alive.

Not all stars are like that. Some are out during tide changes. Mostly your linknia stars. Moving to the SW forums.

Your sea star got out of the tank.. and was traveling across your floor? Pretty risky on his part. But yeah, i thought it was only the linkia sea stars that should never be exposed to air?
