is it just called alkalinity? who makes it?
A buffering agent raises alkalinity and in part helps coralline grow. Like scleractinians, coralline desposits CaCO3 as it grows.. It is not just the alk you need to be concerned about but also the calcium as both are required. The elevation of the levels are not as important as keeping alk/Ca in balance. As long as the levels are within NSW, your all good.

Cheers
Steve
