Aggression towards newcomers

I added a male and 2 female blue plattys to my 60 gallon tank yesterday , and my honey gourami is beating up on them whenever they come out of hiding. Is there any chance he'll chill out towards the newbies, or do I need to remove him? Thanks.

I don't know much about gourami's so take this with a grain of salt but my angelfish are this way. I would suggest putting in a tank divider and putting gourami in a time out of sorts and then rearrange the tank to break up his territory. Then after a day or two let him back into the tank and hopefully he will behave himself better.
