Hi everyone!! I have a few questions about my planted tank. I see growth but not like others with similar plants and specs..

20 gallon tall
Lighting: dual t5 lamp (each 14w)
Substrate: Eco complete
Co2: pressurized
Certs. Leaf zone after ever weekly water change, api root tabs every couple of months.
I also have black brush algae however since adding pressurized co2 it has turned dark red..
Thank you for replying.

The ferts are your weak link. The leaf zone is pretty sub par. If im not mistaken it's nothing but potassium and iron.

I would recommend looking into either an EI or pps pro regimen for ferts, especially since you have pressurized co2.

Dry ferts are cheaper, esp for large tanks and you can customize the dosing for your tank. But you do end up having to add fertilizer on a daily basis or every other day. I'm too lazy for that so that's why I use liquid ferts and I've got small tanks.
