I recently purchased the QuietFlow 50 for my 29Gal tank.

Immediately after installing I noticed there was an issue with too much water using the bypass to spill back into the tank causing minimal filtration.

Does anyone out there know how to fix this issue?

I have tried replacing the filter media, using a cut to size filter floss, lowering and raising the water level, and removing the second smaller diffuser grid.

Water still spills over the bypass :(

Thanks in Advance!

So in the end it was the fiber weave. I loosened the fibers and water passes through just fine. I posted the response in case any one else has the same issue.

Actually, it isn’t that the pump’s flow is too strong, it is the filter cartridge’s fiber weave that is really tight not allowing as much water thru. You can remedy that by holding the cartridge between the palms of your hands and rubbing them back and forth a bit to loosen up the fiber weave.
