Bamboo in Freshwater?

Hello! I was looking to make my tank more alive and was wondering if store bought bamboo does alright in freshwater. The website said tropical, but i'm fairly sure that's not necessary. Any ideas will be appreciated!

bamboo will work in an aquarium, only if part of it is sticking out of the water. i have lucky bamboo in one of my smaller 5 gallon tanks, though it isn't really bamboo anyway.

About how much has to be out of the water?

Give it about an inches under the leaves out of the water. But the more of it out of the water the better.

You can put the entire stock in the water as long as the leaves are out it will live. If the leaves are submerged it will die.
