I've always wondered about the amount of brine shrimp I would lose in the air tube as I siphon them off. The smaller the tube the greater surface area of tube exposed to a given volume of water and therefore a greater chance of leaving behind baby brine shrimp.

My solution:

I have young children and you normally dispense medication to them with a wide mouthed syringe designed to hold 5cc of fluid (on average). Well Instead of the air tube I now use this syringe to pull up exactly the amount of shrimp I want while easily moving the tip around in the shrimp "hatchery". I can then easily flush the syringe multiple times without drawing additional fluids through.

LOL I can't Lori!

I tried BBS once; was a PITA. The hatching more then the siphoning, so I use frozen BBS now. I did find getting the BBS out of the container pretty easy, but I used an eye dropped and not a siphon.
