changing rock colors (and a rock vac question)

later on i would like to change my rocks to another color. would doing so be hazardous to my fish? the tank is newly cycled so i wouldnt do this until i am forsure its stable enough. i have tiny natural colored rocks in there and would like to switch to a black stone type gravel.
also, when do i need to vacum my gravel? what should my cleaning schedual be now that i am cycled?

Here is an artical written on how to change out your substrate:

Also, you will want to vaccum your gravel about once every 2 weeks, depeding on size of tank and amount of fish too.

If your tank is newly cycled you might want to wait a couple more weeks before changing the substrate out IMO. Also definately follow the half now and half later move as instructed in that article DT recommended.
