Cory ID help...

Heyas!

I was @ the lfs yesterday and they had two of these guys for $1.99... and I couldn't pass them up, as I had some 'cory spots' to fill. :g:

They were labelled @ the lfs, corydoras elysssomethingIcantremember - can anyone confirm for me? So far, 'the net' hasn't helped me...

That's every cory species that starts with an E, even tho some of them look nothing like the photo you posted

For entertainment's sake, I called the lfs to see what it was labelled as, and they said the label reads 'agassizii', but now between http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?image_id=677what planetcatfish.com says and what my pictures show, there's no was that's right...


I'm leaning towards #461 (ambiacus), but don't have a lot of time to confirm. This image should help my cause somewhat:

My guess would be C. leucomelas.

The tail in yours looks more like the leucomelas than the ambiacus. Just my opinoin.

Check out what planetcat has to say about them:

C. leucomelas is known amongst collectors in the Amazon as ''Maldito'' (the little damned Cory) because it is so common that it brings a very low price.

I surprised them this morning with a 6am light show and grabbed a couple of decent shots before they woke up:

Lol. The only ones I can find around me are the albinos, peppered and san juan. I'd like some Malditos.
