Feed variety of food: worms, snails, seafood.

Get 40gal tank and make a complex environment for ONE puffer. It will live out its 10+ year life in this tank size.

50% water changes every week and really strong filtration (40gal would need 400gph). You better be comforable premixing brackish water and marine water. Use marine salt and powerhead to premix overnight.

You'll figure out the salt grade requirements later, but this is essentially the basics (y)

yes it will need full marine water at 4inches big.
2-4inches brackish
less than 2 inches freshwater

No its not hard. Just like everything else, it gets easier after doing it a couple of times. Don't put anything else "live" in the tank to make life easier.

The hard part is coming up with all the necessary resources for the water change. That's the only thing preventing me from getting marine/brackish fish.

If you have a 40 gallon tank, then get a 20 gallon container Fill up the container with water. Then add in a heater and powerhead.

After that, take a measuring cup to figure out how much salt is needed to match your 40gal's tank SG. Trial and error is needed for matching. Let the powerhead run overnight with the salt and heater.
