Half Giant plakat betta in community aquarium?

I have kept bettas in my planted community (20g) for nearly 8 years. No problems. I have heard plakats are more aggressive, but never had that variety. I figured plakats could better fend for themselves against my passive GBR, guppies, and neons, in terms of getting to the food fast enough. Any suggestions/ oppositions? (I have had a giant 5 inch body size betta before, no aggresion, lived 4 years).

It all depends on breeding, just like any other species each fish will have their b own temperament. Youre just gonna have to experiment a bit

Well, my mom didn't let me pick out the fish that would be best for the tank, since i believe the long fin bettas have suffered terribly in the face on filter current, and end up having their fins ripped, but she decided to pick out the smallest (Guppy size), most fragile long fin betta at petco, instead of a hardy king betta.(Sigh)

I feel bad for that little guy now
