Aquarium Advice Addict
So, I have gotten my brother-in-law into the aquarium hobby. He currently has a 10g kit that I gave him about 6 months ago. Filtration is an Aqua-Tech 5-15 and he has 2x 13W CFL @ 6500K with some Wisteria, Rotala, Ludwigia, Blyxa, and Hornwort. He has it stocked with 6 Cherry Barbs and 2 Guppies; he did have a Nerite snail, but it died recently. I tested his water before planting his tank and adding the 2nd Guppy and his nitrAtes were at 40-60ppm. Now that his Nerite has died he insists on getting a 3rd Guppy, what should I tell him? I know that some people recommend 60ppm as the maximum nitrAte level, so I just don't want him to end up with problems in the future.
