Just wondering really. I know that Pets at Home locally get a delivery every Thursday, and that all the local branches get fish from the same central location.

So how are fish usually transported in this case? I've been in a branch once before where they appeared to just arrive in lots of plastic bags.

Plastic bags inside cardboard boxes usually. I think bettas come in their little cups. Years ago, I read an article about drugs being smuggled in tropical fish shipments. IIRC, the fish were double bagged bag with a little water, then the drugs were liquified and placed between the two bags. They had a picture showing a lot of boxes filled with bags of fish at the airport.
