How to safely lower water temp

I have probably 50-60 Endlers fry in my grow out tank and it looks like well more than half are males. After doing some research it seems sex of Endlers fry can be affected by water temp. Current temp is just under 78° so my goal is to get it down in the 75° range. Is there a safe way to do this without stressing and/or killing the fish?

A change of 3 degrees is minor. Just lowering the thermostat on your heater and letting the water cool down on its own is fine.

Blowing a fan across the surface of an open topped tank can take a few degrees as well.
Any form of evap is cooling and containing it with full tops is containing heat.
Possibly a few vents on a covered tank would help?

If I change the temp of a tank I try to adjust the thermostat about 1 degree a day and let it settle naturally to the new temp. I never add warmer or colder water to achieve this, the change may be too sudden.
