I have a new school of 8 tigers. And most of the time they are darting around the tank. I have to say they are more entertaining than any program on tv.

The thing is after I feed them they become almost lethargic after I feed them.

Is is normal for Tiger barbs to be inactive after eating? Is it possible they are just eating too much?

They could be just in a "food coma" as they digest. My neons do something similar, going back into the plants after a meal. Have you tested the nitrates in your tank? Sluggish fish are sometimes a symptom of high nitrates.

Am = 0, NO2 = 0, NO3= 5ppm in a planted tank.

I'd say they're just happily digesting, then. :)
Do they return to their active selves after a while?

Yep, after a few hours they are back to darting around the tank. It's a behaviour I have never seen before. Wondering if I was missing something.
