Maintaining a QT w no filter >:(

The stupid filter keeps dying on my 5 gallon QT. It is an Aqua Tech 5-15. It goes off if it gets slightly bumped... ghetto I know lol. There is an ac adapter looking thing that swivels so to speak, and if I mess with that it usually kicks back on. I am thinking there is a short in the wires somewhere. But I have the 3 otos in there... just did a water change but I am worried that they won't do good w/o a filter.


If I do 50% water change daily would they be OK? Until I can get the filter working again?

They will be fine due to the fact they pose almost no bio-load. I use cheap sponge filters that run off an air pump in my qt tank. When not in use I just throw the sponge in my sump.
