Missing fish found!

My chubby pleco went missing about 1 month ago. And then I found a pleco carcass. A little after that I had my tank recycle so I forgot all about him. I saw him today! I'm so happy that he is alive! How could he have hid all that time? I took out all the deco and checked the sand. And he wasn't there.

I'm confused...did you have two plecos? I mean you found a dead pleco...but found another live one in your tank?

But you found a Pleco Carcass as in dead body? But Congrats! He could've been latched onto a fake plant when you pulled them out of the tank to check for him, just a guess. by the way, your tank is beautiful!

I don't know what it was. And I don't care, as long As he is happy and alive my tank looks empty but I have tons of cute fishies

Not when 100% healthy, no. But if you type "pleco shedding" into google you'll see it happens a lot.

My old pleco did it once after we moved house, it did look like a full pleco skin. I was wondering maybe this is what you found.

Bango catfish do, but Im not sure about plecos.

It did look exactly like my chubby pleco. My chubby pleco has never turned gold like they are suppose to when they are stressed
