What are some cool water tropical fish that are low maintenence? I want to have some fish in my goldfish tank other than just goldfish, possibly tetras or somthing. I'm not sure if it will work out but I know neon tetras can like in colder waters of up to 72 degrees.

my neons are in water that is around 80, all the time, so i dont really know what they like.

Neons aren't very hardy, and would be sensitive to colder waters....some might be okay, but I wouldn't risk it. A Siamese Fighting Fish should do okay with the goldfish and some of your smaller members of the cichlid family.

Whit Cloud Mountain Minnows do fine in low temps, they would be good. However if you goldfish get very big, they might eaqt the minnows. Very hard to predict if this would be a problem or not, as some gold fish are more carnivorus than others.
