Hey guys I'll try to make this quick! I'm starting a 50 gallon planted and in the future I plan to add Cories and Khulis. Will Seachem Black Flourite be to rough for their bellies and barbells or should I go with the black sand. Also is the rule for amount of gravel the same with sand? For example if I buy 3 bags of black sand will it be the same as 3 bags of the black gravel? Thanks!

I just don't want to hurt any of my bottom feeders

I would go with eco complete fine grain if you want a planted tank substrate that can go with kuhlis.

As for volume, I would imagine it would take a little more sand than gravel. There are depth calculators for eco complete that can be found on.google.

Fluorite is fine for cories. It is not rough at all. Nor is it heavy. Every time I change the water, I will often have a crater from pouring it in, even though I do it slowly.
