My snails apparently mated again and I have the odd looking egg mass just out of the water. Last time I fed this to the dojo loaches and they absolutely loved it. This time I would like to let the snails hatch and I have a couple of questions.

1) How long does it take?

2) Do I need to do anything special to get them to hatch? or get them started? (besides keeping them away from the loaches! )

If anyone would like pics, let me know. Don't want to grossout the snail-a-phobics

If the eggs are fertile, it will take between 2 to 4 weeks to hatch, depending on temputure and such.

The best thing you can do for them is to ensure they stay moist, normal evaporation of a moderately lighted tank could do that.

after that, get them into a small tank that has algae growing everywhere.

a 5gal would work, just overdose it with nutrients and give it alot of light to get the algae growing, You need alot of algae because these guys are tiny, and can't go car in search of food.

Thanks William! Algea growing everywhere  I think I can handle that!
