just got my centerpiece driftwood in, and I plan an revamping the tank to better emphasize it...and I've also noticed some barbel erosion on mo cory's, so I'm likely swapping my current pea gravel/laterite substrate for Flourite black sand...so my question is this: what would be the best way to change out the substrate without harming my biological filter, and the least stressful way on the fish, to go about this?
