so ive cut my lights down from a 12/12 to a 8/16 cycle... im still getting a lot of algae growth on my DW and glass....

i have 4 Isoetes lacustris plants and 4 Crypt Wendtii.... 2 X48" T5 HO glo-life bulbs...

3 shrimp arnt cutting it... and i dont think i should cut the lights any more... not to mention i like having them on when i get home from work till bed time... 5pm - after midnight ish...

what can i do to control the algae growth?

get a pleco or start adding algae fix by API

Pleco isnt a bad idea... certainty wouldn't be a common pleco though...

as far as algae fix, im totally chem (except Prime water conditioner)... looking for a natural solution.

I would suggest doing a blackout schedule for a week. Or taking your dw out and scrubbing it good.

blackout schedule for a week....? No lights for 7 days? or what?

and i assume adding CO2 at this point would just further the growth?

thats cool no prob on just going natural. there are many different types of algae eaters just go to your LFS and ask what kinds they have. do you have you tank near a window where daylight gets in?
