Ok so here it goes...

I have a 55 gallon that I have x2 Tiger Oscars in. It has been up and maintained for 3 months this far. Water seems to be where it should be for PH and Nitrates, etc. I have done x2 large water changes or at least 30% of it.

THE PROBLEM:

The water has maintained a murky kind of brownish green for over 3 weeks +. I first thought it may be the filtration system so I purchased the Top fin 55 gallon canister filter system thinking it would cure the issue, believing old filter system was just not able to keep up. (Old system was a 55 gallon back hang style system. It was continuously dirty and full of brown goo.) So I ran this new canister system and found it wasn't clearing the water. It didn't show a lot of debris either when I opened it to see if it was working.:banghead:

So...

I took the Top Fin system back thinking maybe it wasn't powerful enough. I then purchased the Fluval 70 gallon canister system to find only it is doing the same thing as previous one.

So what is wrong. Its obviously something in the water correct? Where am I going wrong?

The attachments provided are current to the day with Fluval 70 gallon system attached and working. A nice flow is coming from the return line as well.

What are the levels you are showing for the tank? And was that only two water changes in 3 months? Did you keep the same media when you swapped filters?

If it's not a bacterial bloom or a cycle issue then it might be algae, how long do you leave the lights on for?
