Heyo guys and gals!

I was curious if having hard water can lead to extremely hard levels after a year of evaporation and replacement.
I was wondering because my tank seems very healthy, low nitrates, no ammonia, clear water, etc. but I haven't been able to keep more advanced fish! My hardness at the moment is very hard and I've been trying to dilute it with distilled water.

Is this something I should actually be worried about?

Holy crap that's high lol

I don't think you should be concerned, though, unless you're looking to add plants or fish that are very picky about needing soft water.

You've got great parameters for African cichlids, for example, but not so much for Amazonian plants and fish (which are accustomed to very soft water).

hmmm...well thanks! I've just been trying to figure out what is holding my tank back :/

I should clarify: your current GH/KH are high but not outrageous. I was referring to what your tap water must be.
