What is in my aquarium?

Hey guys,

I have been away for a week on business and when I got home, I noticed a ton of white stuff in my 5 gallon Betta tank. Any ideas as to what it is?

Might be tank fungus. It grows on dead and decaying bio matter, especially uneaten food stuffs.

Yeah, that tank needs a good cleaning. Vacuum the bottom wipe the glass, dip sponge filter in old tank water, wipe heater, wash plants. Water change, water change, water change. And on a side note might wanta invest in a filter with carbon cartridge and low flow to help keep up with the waste. And like V says, watch your feedings. Don't over feed.

Looks like left over food ...Vac and change water..
