Dark commons

Im stocking my pond with nothing but dark (nearly black) common goldfish hoping they will stay this color to adulthood. Does their color have to do with age?

Not necessarily - some 'brown' goldfish can take 18 months before they change colour. Some do stay brown all their lives - a throwback to their wild goldfish heritage.
