Question 20" or 24" lighting

Hi all,

I just joined this forum about a week go while searching for tips to start saltwater fish tank. I think you guys have really great advices to the newbie.

I have a quick question about lighting. I'm getting a bowfront 16 gallon tank with 20" length, however, most of the lighting are about 24" and not many offers 20" with the docking mounts. What would be your recommendation if I would like to start FOWLR tank?

Thank you in advance for your input.

BaweL

Welcome to AA!

A 16g FOWLR pretty much means 2 fish max. With a FO or FOWLR lighting is not that important. You should be able to find a 20" fixture that will fit your tank. Check out Hellolights.com or marinedepot.com there is always ebay as well.

I have a 20" 26/28 watt PC fixture (Coralife I think) with mounting legs on a 10 gallon tank. That would work just fine for your FOWLR, with a 50:50 bulb. I got it at Hellolights.com (click for link)
