Crushed Coral Or Sand

I am going to start a saltwater tank in a couple months but is crushed coral better or sand? I am going to have a reef.
Thanks

You want to use sand because crushed coral will trap food and fish waste because of it`s size ans weight and cause excessive nutrients that will lead to nuisance algea. Your clean up crew will have an easier time with sand.

Depends on what type of corals you are talking about. Watts is a bit old school but we still use it as a broad guideline. Intensity is what you are looking for as far as lighting. But as said it really depends on what corals and anenomes you want. If you got T5HO`s or MH`s then you would be covered as far as intensity.
