My new 20 gallon tank is getting some diatoms on the sand ( of course ). Would a clean up crew take care of these or do they have to go away on their own ?

Yea juat vaccum it up and scrub it off when you do a wc. As long as your nitrates are low it shouldt be a problem.

Thanks.
It's just starting. Only a few little spots. No fish in the tank yet. I was thinking about a CUC this weekend

Nutrients like nitrates or phosphates have nothing to do with diatoms...... they feed on excess silicates typically found in a new system. Once they are consumed, the diatoms will disappear on their own. It can take a few weeks to a few months, and there are some CUC that can help, but you just need to be patient & let them run their course.
