First saltwater tank

Hey all,
I'm looking to finally set up my first saltwater tank. I wanted to get thoughts on the biocube. They have 16g ones on sale at the big box nearby. Is this too small to start with?I've been doing freshwater fish for 15 years so I would like to think I can handle a small saltwater but i dont want to get caught up in an Icarus mentality. Id like to ultimately do corals and a small fish or two. Am I better off with a piecemeal setup?

Well, that depends on what exactly you're looking to do with it. Are you wanting to do a reef or just fish? What brand of biocube is it?

Ideally I'd like to do fish and then transition to a reef. It's a coralife biocube.

They are ok biocubes. Lid would have to be modified for reef compatible lighting if I remember correctly.
