Yes they do. I usually just gentle but firmly pull on the stem/trunk of the Xenia and pull it off the rock. Sometimes if it is established enough the bottom "foot" is thick hard plate like and can be scraped or peeled off. This has to happen quickly before the coral retracts/deflates or slimes up too much.

You can cover any remaining flesh with a little bit of kalk paste or wait and hope it doesn't grow back.

If it grows back it will be slow! You will be trimming them regulating so if they grow back no big deal

Ok this is what I'm up against. It's not the pulsating xenia I have no problem with those. I want to completely get rid of my blue xenia and this other long type of xenia. They dont pull off the rocks. I took 3 big rocks that were covered in this stuff out of my tank and I plan on running the rocks with vinegar and water. Someone told me to run the rocks in clorox and water killing everything on the rock. I took out about a bucket worth of this xenia and still have plenty more. Am I going to have to pull all these rocks out and nuke them?

You've basically done one of the ways of killing the stuff off. Any way of getting rid of the stuff without effecting the pulsing variety you have as well will require removing the entire rock and treating it separately.

Find the biggest tank you can fit comfortably under there. Then lots of online design ideas, customized for your own equip.

1 rule. Glass sump, glass baffles.
Acrylic sump, acrylic baffles.

Ok so I was able to easily fix the leak with some weld on acrylic based glue. I got rid of almost all the xenia by bleaching almost all my live rock. After a couple months my live rock is slowly getting back some color.

Don't mind the red slime. I've been slowly getting rid of it.
