Hi guys

My first salt water tank is coming along nicely..30 Gal with sand 2 inch sand base, 12 lbs live sand on top of that, and 17 lbs LR . Diatons are starting to grow on rock. Is now the time to add clean up crew? or should I wait longer. I received many featherdusters with my LS, will clean up crew bother them?

NH3/NH4 0
NO2 0.3
PH 8.0
Temp 80F

What would also be best for a clean up crew ?

Thanks :)

Don't add anything until the ammonia and nitrite are at zero. When that happens you can start adding things. I recommend snails, red/blue leg hermit crabs, maybe a sand sifting star to start.

You have to get the parameters right first then you have to keep the ca at the right levels. Then it's all about luck. It took over a year for it to start showing up in our tank on the plastic stuff. You also have some inverts that will eat it so you need to research everything you put in to be sure it won't eat it.
