Took some advice a few weeks ago and invested in a taotronic unit. I have a 3ft x 16" x 16". What height above the water would you recomend i set the light at? Thanks

I have mine about 6" above the water, but if you only have 1 for a 3' tank, it's best to raise it to get better spread. You'll have to experiment to see what height gives you the best coverage.

it is depend on your application as well, if you using it to keep SPS, I don't think you can move the fixture higher. For most LED the regular rule is to have it at about 6-10" high. If you have 120 degree lenses, you might be ok to have it lower than that as larger degree of lenses will lower the PAR/PUR right under the fixture. If you have 120 degree lenses and hang it too high, you will lose lots PAR/PUR
