nitrate question

could an ammonia level of .5 mg/L and nitrite of .25 mg/L kill a fish?

Simply, yes. But it also depends on the fish.

okay, so i bought a d. heniochus yesterday. i put him in my qt, and i thought i checked my levels and they were fine. i got home today from being gone all day, and he was dead. i don't know when he died, but i checked my levels after. the reading was what i mentioned above. i was frustrated because i just got him and i thought it was fine, he was swimming and eating fine.

any comments???
